To support the reading of the book ‘Maus: A Survivor’s Tale’ by Art Spiegelman, a presentation was arranged by the English department through the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum to meet a Holocaust survivor. Albert Garih was born of Turkish Jewish parents who immigrated to France. He was one of the many ‘hidden children’ in France during the Nazi occupation. Mr. Garih joined the 10th, 11th, and 12th grade classes online to share his experience as a young Jewish child in France during the Holocaust and answer student questions.
