Academic Integrity
Having students develop their thoughts, feelings, and thinking skills are among the top objectives of all educational institutions. Students, from time to time, may feel the need to complete their assignments in the quickest way possible. Known to everyone as cheating, plagiarism is an undeserved advantage. The students claim work as their own and turn in these assignments as if they had completed it themselves. This is certainly unacceptable behavior. Students should be mindful of other people's work. They need to believe that they should not receive anything that they do not deserve. Based on this value system students should not claim work as their own, not use other people's results without citation, and not arrange data according to their needs. If they decide to cite another person's work they must use quotation marks or create footnotes, create bibliographies, or use other methods that show proper citation of sources. For the 2011-2012 academic year our school will be using the program "Turnitin" in order to check and make sure that students' Works are not plagiarized. This program is used in other IB schools and universities in order to ensure students write their own texts. This will make them beter writers and researchers, help the devlop original contexts, learn to use resource materials appropriately, and ensure that they learn to use proper citation methods. This information was given to you so you would be aware of our new academic policy.

Dear Parents,

The academic year has started! We are very happy and excited to meet with you. As you know, school plays a very important role in our lives; it prepares us for our social life and also shapes our academic life.

We become acquainted with many people during school and learn so many new subjects which we did not know before.

As in the all areas of social life and democratic establishments, there are certain rules both students and employees need to comply with in order to maintain a happy and successful school environment.

Rules should not be perceived as an enforcement tool. Each system can only exist within the framework of certain rules and abnormality causes distractions. Therefore, we must follow the school rules for a compatible and happy school life.

Teachers have already discussed the school rules with students on Monday, September 12, 2011. However; as we have seen today, some students' clothing and hair length still do not comply with the school rules.

The students' uniform rules and some basic information about student appearance are available on our website. Apart from these rules, male students should come to the school with an appropriate haircut and female students should tie their hair back.

If a student fails to follow these rules, the student will not be allowed in the class and parents will be called and asked to bring appropriate clothing.

We must be very sensitive with these rules in order to establish a strong educational environment. We are very sure that you will show the same sensitivity for our new rules which will be valid starting 13-09-2011. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. All of us wish your student a productive and successful year!

*The deputy will be informed about the school clothes which cannot be obtained from the school.
